The State of Louisiana, through Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ), offers an expedited permit program. Louisiana's permit process is straight-forward and generally follows federal guidelines to obtain a permit.
The Expedited Permit Program was begun in 2006 and offers the ability for a company to reimburse the LDEQ employees for any overtime incurred working to expedite air, water, and waste permits. The legislation also allows for the LDEQ to hire private contractors to perform the work, where necessary.
